OUR PROCESS

As part of a collaborative process, we will discuss your goals to design a space that reflects your personality and style.

 
 
 

Phase 1

Design Concept

Based on client meetings, site measurements, a questionnaire and a review of inspiration images, we will create drawings to illustrate our design concepts and prepare layout plans.

 
 
 

PHASE 2

Specification and Purchasing

Our design process is a collaborative effort, and the scheme is completed based on client feedback. We work with clients to quickly identify main pieces they like and build a scheme around them. If purchasing services are part of the scope, we will place and manage all the orders for you.

 
 
 

PHASE 3

Project Administration Services

If the project requires construction and clients want us involved in the actual project management, we charge a percentage of the construction budget. If we are just making occasional site visits to observe progress and are not as involved, we charge hourly.

 
 
 
 

ABOUT LEONORA MAHLE

Los Angeles based Interior Designer

Leonora Mahle is known for her open and airy interiors representing a sense of quality and craftsmanship.

Leonora grew up in Brazil and received her professional training at the New York School of Interior Design. She also holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from American University. Her well-rounded experience, including a strong knowledge of construction, business, and client management, led to the inception of Mahle Design and its strong attention to detail and service. Since then, the firm's projects have spanned from modern, traditional, and transitional with a consistent sense of refinement.

Leonora is a Professional Member of ASID and a LEED Green Associate. She recently relocated from New York to Los Angeles and looks forward to helping clients in California.

  • We are a high-end residential interior design firm that provides the following services:

    • Space planning

    • Sourcing and specification of furniture, fabric, accessories, tiles, hardware, lighting, plumbing, window treatments, etc.

    • Procurement services

    • Project management and coordination with architect and contractor, if applicable/desired

    • Installation

  • We are based in the Los Angeles area and are happy to work anywhere, depending on scope. We continue to take on projects in New York.

  • We believe in a collaborative effort and are not a “big reveal” type of firm. We love clients who are into the design process and want to be involved, to the extent that their time allows.

  • It depends on the project and workload, but we typically tend to come back to clients with initial sourcing and layouts within a couple of weeks.

  • On large projects, we charge a fixed design fee, paid in installments, and a procurement fee if we’re placing and managing orders. On smaller projects, where procurement is typically not part of the scope, we bill hourly, providing an estimate for our time before we start.
